If it doesn't fit elsewhere, it should go here

It's been a while since I've been to these forums, but I feel like coming back so I'm going to start a thread now

Does anyone else customize their operating systems? I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 and I usually use either Awesome WM or Gnome3.

I don't customize my computer more than what's normally possible, but I jailbroke my iPhone if that counts, since it is iOS

Off topic: I can't help but say your background's adorable.
On topic: I've tried customizing my Mac with GeekTool before, but I've only ever been able to make a clock. It fit well with a few of my backgrounds though. I've uninstalled GeekTool since then though.

that's just impractical, because gif has color restraints. It's not possible anyway, maybe you could just put each layer in a folder and have a slideshow background.
Which again, is impractical.

On XP and probably earlier you could embed a flash as your background so I had all sorts of interfaces I found on sites. I had Hitchhikers Guide with working navigation, I had LCARS from Stark Trek, then Vista and Windows 7 flaged up secerity concerns for it so it was removed.

that could probably be accomplished with rainmeter now, though. Most rainmeter is disgusting, sadly
