super mario maker during the nintendo world championships, sorry I show have specified for those who didn't see

basically this happened during it where a player entered a door was faced with this an walked out
the sprites in this style were cool so I ripped them (with inaccurate palette)

Use Chara instead. Don't.
If you quoted this post and plan on shouting "spoilers!!1!", please consider this:

It's literally just the default name for the character with an interchangeable name. The only special thing about it in-game is the special message if you name yourself Chara. It entails no spoilers in and of itself. That's why I didn't spoiler it. On the other hand, it's a joke instead of an actual suggestion because I figure someone will try to say it's a spoiler anyway. So, if you quoted this post to tell me it's a spoiler, then I guess I'm right about that one.

Unless there is an actual in-game use of the name outside of choosing your name. In which case, ignore everything I wrote here because at that point it's probably a spoiler.

I hate to point this out, Turret, but you use gradients in your image.
Which makes it not-pixel art. Or at least, not good pixel art. Systems back in the day couldn't support that many colors.
(And if they could, we'd have pixelated photo-realistic images.)

You did a fine job making it look good, otherwise.

Second one. The first one looks like a weird walking animation, mostly because of the speed.

I like the turning of the back foot in the first one, but it looks way too fast. Maybe just a slight turn of the back foot on 2 (unless that's not what you're asking).
