How did you choose your username?

The title pretty much describes everything.
I've seen people with really creative usernames (I'm looking at you ThunderFlipper) so yay... I made a thread about it.



EXAMPLE
I frequently played an online game a few months ago. The online game had a place called "R____ W____ Labs", and I went there frequently in-game. Later while I was creating a new Hotmail account (don't try to email me, I have about 20 more accounts, 18 of them, including this one, has never been used ever since) to sign up for another game, I was fresh out of ideas for a new id that won't be to hard to memorize (believe me, after you create about 18, it's pretty tough). The first thing that came to mind was "R____ W____ Labs", so I abbreviated it to "RWLabs@hotmail.com". After making that Hotmail account, I signed up a bunch of other sites/games with the same username as my Hotmail account- RWLabs. I quit playing that game that had the original "R.W. Labs" some time ago, but "RWLabs" pretty much became my online name.

I was playing a game called WarioWare DIY (wherein people make thier own five or ten second "microgames"), and it asked me for a company name. It may seem like my username stemmed directly off of that, but in fact I went a very roundabout way: I thought of a gaming company called Vanillaware and inserted the first half of my name as a way to show that I've inserted my own creative spice before people even played my games.

THEN it hit me that it's similar to WarioWare.

I continue to use this username because I continue to make things. Because that's what I do.

I used to go simply by "Pyro" (although I used fancy letters) on another website for a time, until I drew up a fire-breathing dinosaur in MS Paint out of boredom. I decided to name it after my username and call it a "pyrosaur". Eventually I chose that as my current username. The "0" in it is exclusive to this forum as a tribute to Mari0.

I just wanted a name. A name I could use throughout the internet and games and such, for accounts an profiles. So I used The fantasy name Generator. While my name isn't shown no matter how much you press the refresh button, it still kind of inspired me. I used several names on there to make my current name.

I have a second name: Nytury (this is currently my Xbox Live Gamertag). I use that one when Jorichi is already taken, I lost my old account and can't retrieve it or when I want to have a second account or something. Nytury is thought up the same way.

I used a signature when I was like 12, which was supposed to look like my name, then after a while I realised it looked more like "TroSh" than "JohnG" (somehow) and I liked it so I kept it, and my blog I made when I was 13 I think was troshdrawings.over-blog.com so it stayed.

While I don't know any Sakuras (don't even know who you're talking about), I'm pretty sure that if you replaced that word with "practically every female on earth" your statement would still be correct.

my parent's had an account for a game (no names) that I wasn't old enough to play, I played the game and didn't have fun... I just decided to stick with the name after that, plus steam already had someone named renhoek so I added some xXx's.

My old name used to be segendo (thought of it when I was 10 or so it's a combination of the name sega and nintendo) which is why my youtube name and minecraft name's segendo.

I was playing a BYOND game called RP Radio, which was basically the result of when you mix Sonic and Dungeons & Dragons. When I was making a new character, I decided to have a robotic hedgehog(Mecha Sonic-style), and I chose Nega for a name. After I left due to the trollish, douchebaggery that is the game's players, I kept doing that for usernames on impulse. Something else that makes me smile is that my brother's common username is the name of the maker of RP Radio, who was the ripest of the bunch of bad apples. Oh, did I forget to mention that almost the entire group of people are complete douchebags towards new players? :(

I used to use a name called pinorobot, after this little robot I used to own. Few years later, I decide to pick up a game called Runescape. I thought that pinorobot sounded a little uncool by then. I also used to watch a show called Beyblade V-Force, and one of the characters was called Ozuma. I thought that sounded cool and put it in. It was already taken, and suggested Ozuma36, and I guess the name just stuck!
