Compatible Gamepads
In here, post if the gamepad WORKS, not if it DOESN'T. Generally Mari0 should work with any gamepad detected by the operating system. Variation (i.e. Home or Professional on Windows) shouldn't matter. Also post it it works natively (i.e. no drivers needed/automatically provided by OS or if you have to install them from manufacturer's site/cd) or if you need to use software to emulate a different controller/keyboard. Underneath each controller will be a list of systems and software (if needed) with which it works.
Also, post any useful emulation software that you know of that might be useful to others.
Note: The controller has to be connected and recognised by the OS before the game is started, otherwise it will not be detected in the game.

Playstation 3 - Sixaxis / Dualshock3
- Windows 7 - DS3tool
- Windows XP - Third party drivers or native
- OSX 10.6 - native
Playstation 2 - Dualshock2 (with Speedlink SL-6502 adapter)
- Windows (all) - supplied
Xbox 360 controller
- Windows 7 - native support
- Windows 8 - native support
- OSX Lion - Third party driver
- Ubuntu 11.10 - native support
Logitech Dual Action Gamepad
- Windows 7 - native
- Windows XP - supplied drivers
- OSX ? - ControllerMate
Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710
- Windows XP - supplied
Logitech Rumble Gamepad F510
- Windows 7 - supplied drivers
Saitek Rumble P2500

- Windows 7 - native support
Saitek P880 Dual Analog

------------
So basically post your operating system, your gamepad's full name, the software you have to use - if it installs automatically, say "native". If you have to use manufacturer's supplied drivers (CD or website) say supplied drivers. If you need some software made by third party, give the name and preferably a link.. Also, for the sake of consistency and ease of use, let's assume we're all running the most up to date versions of each OS's release.

I can confirm that my Xbox 360 controller along with the drivers supplied here (http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/Projec ... /OsxDriver) are working with no issues on OSX Lion.

Logitech's Dual Action Gamepad works wonderfully. Running Windows XP Home along with the Logitech Controller Profiler and the necessary drivers installed.

DualShock3 with Tamamy Ikesu's driver works perfectly for me (WinXP 32bits here). I've only tested it with the wire though, need to buy a new bluetooth dongle...
edit: i haven't tested it, but it also should work just fine with stock windows drivers since it behaves as a plain dualanalog joypad by default.

Original Xbox 360 Controller works perfectly on Windows 7 x64, just connect and play.
Could you clarify if drivers are supplied or do you have to use third party softwareHeroKing wrote:OS: Linux Ubuntu 10.10

it is native support. drivers installed on their own, so it's just simple plug n playSašo wrote:Could you clarify if drivers are supplied or do you have to use third party softwareHeroKing wrote:OS: Linux Ubuntu 10.10

On the back of the controller you can make it direct input or x input, was only working with x input. What do you mean by driver and native or supplied?Sašo wrote:x-input? Could you clarify that? I'm having trouble getting a controller to work. in osx 10.6.8
I can't figure out how to turn off or change the mouse owner option for player one.
i've tried using a ps3 controller (through usb and bluetooth) and another dual analog controller. I can move down and change the left, right, up, and down to correspond to the left analog stick, but no option is available to configure the right stick.
The odd part is that if select the option to configure the player 2-4 controls the mouse owner option is automatically set to no and the right analog stick is configurable.
I just cant change the mouse owner option for player one.

I have the same controller, Windows 7 64-bit, and it works in both direct input and x-input for me. I have it in direct input, because the triggers won't work for me in x-input (they're analog instead of buttons, and when I try to set it to use portals it says "You can only set buttons for this").Moncole wrote:My controller works for it. Is there a way to play local multiplayer without a gamepad, I cant seem to change player 2's aimx and aimy key into a keyboard key , it gives you a"you can only set axes for this"message, could there be any software which would allow your keyboard to emulate a gamepad or something like that?

Wireless Xbox 360 controller with Wireless Receiver
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Works fine with Mari0.
When I first set up my controller I had to use these drivers in order for my laptop to recognize the wireless receiver:
Drivers
Also, I think I may have had to use one of the methods here to get the drivers to install correctly. It was a while ago so I don't really remember which one.

My logitech dual action gamepad worked fine on windows 7 64-bit. It's arrow buttons are screwed up (probably a physical and not software problem) but everything worked fine using the thumb lever deals.
I have found that the gamepad is much better to control the actual mario levels while the keyboard and mouse work better on the portal map packs.

Chalk the Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 on that list.
Still running Windows XP Home along with the same Logitech Controller Profiler and the necessary drivers installed.
