Yeah that controller is a complete turd for this game, but it worked as soon as i plugged it in after a couple of years of storage. I prefer the modified-to-usb XBOX controller with the XBOX HID Driver myself. :D

Playstation 3 Afterglow Controller..think it's model AP1 or something...works fine. It installs it's own drivers and works right away (native), on Windows 7, unlike the normal Dualshock 3. The triggers on the controller are also digital rather than analog when connected to the PC...some people might like that so you can use them to run or something.

The wiimote should work fine with a program called glovepie as it's a key mapper. I can't test this as someone hacked the website and I don't know of a mirror.

Gamecube controller (with third party device)
- Windows XP - native (drivers optional)
- Windows Vista - native (avoid driver, severely reduces C stick accuracy)

have not had a chance to try it on win7 but it should be same as vista

I got the above device before they made a new one (native only)

the Steelseries 3GC controller works with Mari0 after a little bit of editing of the keys.
Operating systems: Linux Ubuntu 10.04-11.10, windows XP and Vista(dont know which service packs were installed) don't know about mac.

Completely native, no need to install everything, but it needs to be on MODE 2(AKA the RED SETTING.)

I think we can just conclude that everything that is properly recognized in the game controller dialog will work with Mari0.
I don't even know why you made this thread. It's just misleading because people think that controllers that are not on the list won't work.

Noob question: When launching the game after having the pad plugged in, how will I be able to assign button functions? Will a menu pop up or do I have to write some kind of txt file?

You go into the options' "controls" tab. It has button prompts.

Just tried my logitec, and for some reason when I try to bind the portal gun to the right stick, the controls for it always end up inverted! I've tried binding the x and y axis both ways, and the inversion remains. Any ideas?

I have bought ps to pc converter for mari0, it is worked ,but not like mouse. So, is it normal for ps2 gamepad ? I am not sure but the model of ps2 controller must be PRIGE or like this.
