Mari0 SE with gamepad

Good day everyone, tell me why I can’t play using the gamepad in Mari0 SE?
Can this be fixed somehow?

Unless you have a really good reason not to, you should probably be using Mari0 AE. I don't know the cause of the bug, but the SE betas are not very stable so it might just not work

I wanted to play as rainbow dash, but Mari0 AE doesn't have such characters

CE probably fixes it, I don't really remember. I've never had reason to use anything but keyboard and mouse controls
