Ok This Is My First Attempt To Make A Mod. Its Supposed To Be Cave Story But With Portals! And I Would Like Some Help For The Big Mario (Quote) Images. But Anyways The Original Portal Packs Will Be Left But Mario May Be Removed.If Anyone Wants To Offer Help I Would Appreceate It! Im Also Working On Downloading The Music And Putting It Into The Game! So Look Forward To That! Plus A Custom Icon Too! Beta Versions Have Cheats But When I Need To Turn Cheats Off I Will.

Beta Downloads Will Come Once I Get The Sprites For Small Mario (quote) FIXED!

I find it ironic he capitalizes every word except the one word that needs capitalization, 'Quote'.
I would try and make the big-quote sprites, but I don't know how he would look.
Oh, and the portal gun needs to be put somewhere else. It's not really being held in his hands.

ill fix the portal gun. and the big Quote sprites are just the same as normal quote just fit into the big mario size (no resizing stuff)

example: 0 = small 1= big 2= bigs sprite size

2+0= No resize

There's a difference between criticism and just being an asshole.
Yes, Firaga was being an asshole but he has good points.
-A website for a mod doesn't seem necessary
-You did spell the company name wrong. It's Stabyourself.net, not Stabbed By Yourself. There's a difference.
-I'll give you the youtube thing, as video proof is always helpful.
-I didn't notice a shop when I checked your site but you shouldn't expect to sell stuff. You're making a mod based on 3 different games. That doesn't warrant selling anything. Also copyright issues if you do try selling something based on those 3 games.

You are a bad poster now, but that can be improved. Just put some thought into your posts, watch your spelling and grammar, and make sure you read your posts back to yourself before posting. If it sounds stupid to you don't post it.

You're also not going to get better without criticism. Feedback about the mod and yourself is needed to improve. Just brushing it off and claiming that it's mean won't help you at all.

sonicthehaxghog, I'm sure Pixel, Maurice, and Valve are fine with you making that mod, but sorry(It's the law), you can't sell a mod of copyrighted stuff. It's illegal.
Also, Mari0 isn't the best base to rebuild CaveStory+, since for example, It don't have Vertical Scrolling, real guns, etc.
It would be easier to decompile Cave Story +, add the portal gun, then recompile.
And even these 3 tasks would be individually very hard to you.

Kid, I don't know how or why you think you can make any form of money on this. But the truth is that YOU FUCKING CAN'T.

Mario, Portal, and Cave Story are all copyrighted. This means you can't make any games using properties that Nintendo, Valve, and...Nicalis(?) have created.
Your mod is using properties form ALL 3 OF THEM. If you were to try to sell any part of this you'd be getting sued left and right, regardless of where you lived.

Also if you are trying to make money off this, you best not be wanting people to make you assets for free, because that ain't gonna happen. No one's going to make you any form of work for free, especially since you have next to no real progress other than graphic changes that makes this unique.

I honestly think this project's not going to go anywhere.

You've made a bad decision to sell something other people made with no consent or royalty. Especially when the game you "made" it from is free.

If you're an artist of sorts, you don't really need to know how to code to mod this game. Just open up the .love version of Mari0 and start replacing all the .png images.

Legally, they wouldn't be able to.
You have to use the same license as Mari0 was in if you redistribute a mod of it.
