So basically the plan is that when SE is released we recreate the original SMB mappack in the style of "All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros.", a version of the original Super Mario Bros. which replaced various graphics of the enemies with radio DJ's and other stuff.
This means we're gonna replace all the enemies with the Stabyourself forum members, and maybe a new custom tileset too.
This is where you, the forum members, come in. If you want to be part, just follow these rules:
NOTE: Currently entries for enemies are closed until SE's eventual release. Since this is unknown, so is the reopening of entries.
Few things you need to do: wrote:1) You must be in good standing with the community. If you're seen as a spammer, you're not getting in.
2) First of all, you have to post in this thread to show you're interested.
3) You have to say what enemy you want to be. Goomba, Koopa, even Bowser. Heck, if you want, you can even replace Mario.
4) You need to provide some sprites for us to work with.
The fourth rule is the most important of all. You need to actually CONTRIBUTE if you want to be part. Since I don't know exactly how you want to be represented, I can't make all the sprites myself. Now this doesn't mean you have to provide every frame. If you can make one or two frames of animation, I'd be happy to help you finish it up. Also, when making your sprites, try to keep within the boundaries of the original enemies. So if you're making a goomba, try to keep it 16x16px big. There can be more than one of each kind of enemy as well, so if someone calls a spot you want, it doesn't immediately mean you can't have it. There can be 2 or more Goombas/Koopas/Cheep Cheeps.
Also, If you apply for a certain enemy, there's no guarantee you'll get that spot. If only 8 members applied and they all applied for Bowser, then that wouldn't make a good all around graphic mod would it? There's a wide array of enemies, so don't be afraid to be a Goomba replacement.
One more thing: I'm only allowing up to 4 Mario replacements, and if you want to be one of them, you have to make the FULL sheet. If you really want to be Mario, show the effort.
NOTE: I've already got all the Mario positions filled. Sorry. If you want though, you can show off your custom Mario sprites, and if they're good and complete, I'll compile them for use with the character loader and advertise it's download in the first post, even if you already have another position in the mod.
The final version won't be until SE's release, but since it's mainly a graphic mod we can get a headstart on it. So if you're interested or have any questions, please post below.
