@Jackostar: For the last time there's a fucking edit button. Use it. Don't double post. I don't care if I'm sounding like an arrogant asshole, but if you double post in this thread again I'm removing you from the mod. Also if Jim wants in he'll provide the sprites.

@Renhoek: I'm seriously close to just closing this thing down. I can recolor Jorichi's character and just use FP's character to fit in the last two spots, and I've got enough title screens for a good mod. This thing's more or less complete anyway.
The most recent GOOD submission was Hans' portal tileset, which I need to update the mod with. And Ucenna made a good post about changing the fire flower colors to more match the rootbeer a little bit ago. That's the only good sumissions/suggestions I've got recently. The rest have been stupid jokes, less-than-par submissions, and people just being overall intolerable. It mainly started going downhill when turtley started posting in here, and also telling me to leave my own thread.
Unless I actually get some good ideas to keep this mod going, I'm seriously gonna just shut it down and label it done.

You can just do all that, close it down until SE comes, and then we can do everything else we've planned to do, and then consider the mod done. But remember it's your decision, not mine.

Well, you said it yourself, mari0 is in Cc, so he can't . And I doubt that maurice would try to put you in jail for stupid things like this.But, that would be illegal since... copyright

Here's an idea I've been dwelling on... And not to restrain it specifically to this mod, just as another 'throw out there' idea to give the game a more natural feel...
I've always thought the lifeless, stoic, motionless idling to be rather... Odd. Don't get me wrong, I understand SMB, Portal, and Mari0 are all about movement and completing challenges as fast as possible...
But sometimes when you just want to stop and admire a really nice piece of level-design, or if you're struck by a rather puzzling puzzle...
Wouldn't it be nice to have little idle animations for our characters? To give them a little bit of life and movement. From my novice perspective, and a little bit of hindsight after typing this, I understand the implication of such a trivial piece would be a little more complicated than need be*, seeings as each character could have their own idle anims with each frame lasting for less than a second and having varying degrees of length and width. Also considering most of them would probably would never be seen, on another wave of hindsight this idea is really stupid, but what the hay.
I dunno, just putting my thoughts down again.

Complications also include: Checking mouse and key to stop animation and continue normal movement.
Enemy collisions.
Conflicting sprites tethered to the 'mario' object.
Animations possibly being glitchy and only playing like halfway through? Depends on who does it really... And if the spriters are up for another round of spriting on a larger scale.
Can't generalize spritesheets, there would need to be a character-specific code to map out each quad and tell the main how long that quad will be visible.
Also, if multiple animations are desired, I'm assuming separate sheets will need to be made to do so? From what I understand, that might NOT be the case, but, still thinking aloud. I have this terrible habit of extending shit unnecessarily when no one responds immediately. Terrible habit.

I wouldn't say that's a bad idea. I mean, if they would add that in, I wouldn't have problems spriting mine.
What would the point of adding that be, other than make everyone redesign their sprites?

Changing the loading text wouldn't be such a bad idea. But some of the ones in that post aren't really that good.
