This forum has so many talented people it's unreal. We need more community mod and game development stuff, when it goes right and the right people are organizing it, it turns out amazing.

You can use which version suits you. I don't care if it is a noteblock or my head/avatar.

I also realized the entities.png has to be fixed with it.

EDIT:
I prefer the one with my head on it, if that's no problem for you.
Now to wait for it's art...

I uh, Actually had an idea for a free-form isometric RPG inspired by Tabletop RPG's (More or less spawned by this mod and Twatter Story). If by "game development stuff", you mean members coming together to create a game...

Edit: I also look very unhappy with my post.
So here's an idea pertaining more toward the mod itself:

What say we combine Turtle's CharacterLoader and QCode's character selector? That way we can have our selected characters, and while we're selecting our characters we can read the Biographies on us!

All right, using idiot's picture for the title screen template...
I have encountered a problem. The in-game screen is messed up. I resize for more space, since the old title screen does not take up the whole screen (On the sides, you see the first level of the map that you are playing.) If I resize it does not allow me part of the left and top of the screen, so the title page is not fully shown. How do you get rid of the map-seeing sides and top and replace them with the title?

OK, Finished Draft 1 of the title screen. It includes all of Assassin's art, and will be updated when more is made. Like I said, it wont work properly in game, but someone that can code should be able to fix that.

Alright, I edited it. Stan can fly using his arms with his own will. Why? Because Stan is cool like that.
Also, renhoek should be in the blue portal of the logo because he's the Goomba, similar to that of the goomba in the original Mari0 logo.

Please don't be offended, but IMO that would look bad as a title screen. There's a reason I didn't include the others in my li'l image there, because none of them really fit. Also it looks like you just squished my image, making it look distorted.

I gave it a try last night. I got character loading done, but then there was a really annoying bug that I had to fix before I released. When selecting characters I used to have it hard coded with which names and such they should change to. I had to make it more flexible with this. For some reason character's names would always get this bug where, the player you're trying to alter (for example player 1) first option would get stuck as the player+1's character. So for player 1, idiot's name got turned into assassin's. Player 2 assassin got turned into lightning fire, and now you couldn't scroll back to idiot. It was a mess. I'm thinking of hard coding the main 4 and just having the customizable character's names altered. It's an ugly solution, but I think it would work.

Also, should we change the music in this even? Cause right now this seems like a way bigger game change than All Night Nippon was. It may be a pretty meh idea to change the music, but I was just considering it.

Heck, whatever works for you. I'd say either go with your idea or help Turtle with his character mod. If you go with your idea make sure you have plans to code a fifth player for when Pyro's done with his (six if we include the duck I just made a few posts ago). I wouldn't mind if we didn't have a character limit myself, but hey.

Of course you should add the duck as a playable character!
He IS the mascot of the forums. If you don't add the duck, it won't be the forum version of Mari0! Its like removing Mario from the franchise, just doesnt work!
Please add the duck on the next update of All Night StYs, thank you.
Still, if were gonna mod the music, get Cyto on that. He has pretty good musics.

So custom characters are now added. I use the same default folder as Turtle does, so you don't have to have two copies of all of the characters. It uses the same format as Turtle's too except that it works.
So tutorial on how to add them is over at the main char loader page: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2963
config.txt isn't loaded because I was never really a fan of the descriptions, and I wanted to keep that options page slim like it currently is. Your characters name is loaded from the folder name that all the animations are in.

It gives me this error when you start up the game when you don't have any characters in the character folder, but doesn't show when there is one in the folder.
Other than that it works like a charm.

I like how this is going though. Furthermore, the settings files were also for other things, not just descriptions. Such things would be the preset colors and "colorables" texts in options.
