So, I've been wanting to replace Mario with another character that I have. The problem is that I'm not sure how to go about doing it, and if I do this, how do I set the default colors of the character in the code?
My character is basically a yellow Toad. It's just a recolor of the toad from Super Mario Bros 2/Super Mario USA
I'm working on the sprites, so this isn't a complete sheet obviously. Though I think I may need some help with making some custom poses for the other Mario poses.
Sorry if this has been asked before and I'm only adding another thread to the pile or something. I couldn't exactly find an answer anywhere else in the forums about this.
Creating a custom character and setting the colors?

I'd say just wait until Mari0 SE comes out, it will have a feature to create custom characters
But if you were to change it, you would change the three different white sprite sheets in the .love files (after being renamed to .zip), in each, having your sprite white for one color, and the other 2 colors removed completely. Remember that the sprites will have to be the same size, or smaller, otherwise they will be cut off
I can't help you with setting the default color, I knew where it was located at one time, but not anymore. Changing it in the Mari0 settings wouldn't be much different though

Ah, I see... I'm probably just better off waiting for SE then. Though, I would like to know how to make the default hat to be no hat, if anyone happens to know. It's been bugging me while I was going through the code.
