This is, as the name suggests, a Jetpack Joyride mod for Mari0.
Currently features:
Zappers (drawing isn't fixed yet)
Lasers (ditto)
Plan to do:
Missiles (this is a maybe only)
Vehicles (ditto)
Note: no spin tokens because extra lives, blasts, coins and other items are currently too hard for me to program.
(NB: if anyone could help me make a 'shop' (coins, items and/or gadgets) that would be nice. But it'd probably be quite hard.)
Since I haven't tested it, I have no idea what happens when you mix these entities with things like enemies and portal entities. Probably nothing.
Tileset (also WIP) is available.
Tell me if you want screenshots, I'll get those up ASAP.
Please comment below.
This uses pbalazs' Mari0 XT mod, which features a jetpack. Thanks to everyone who helped me in some way or other.

Missiles shouldn't be hard. All you have to do is make it so that when the exclamation comes up, it counts down to come from right boundary.
They follow your y-cords, but can only move so far up/down a second...

If my memory serves right, there are unique colors only for the first ten Sectors. Sector 8 was dark magenta in color, Sector 9 was indigo, and Sector 10 was white, but with the lights on the floor cycling through different colors. After that, the sectors repeat.

EDIT: After a quick work in Photoshop, I added in tiles for the remaining three sectors, plus the first 10 after the loop. Feel free to touch up the tileset to your liking.

Thanks, I didn't know all of those existed. The sectors end at 16, when every sector past that is 16.
I assume that there is currently no way to create the animated rainbow things?
And should I make the other backgrounds actual backgrounds or tiles?

Ok, thanks. Don't remember you saying that though.
I'd like it if someone could make me the background, because I don't have the time (yet) to make such detailed graphics.
Added to 'plan to do' list: vehicles! Sprites would be difficult though.

Yeah, I realised.

Now up: lasers! As usual, drawing isn't fixed but basically they're extra-long zappers with a fixed length. Nothing special but they exist now.
Can anyone help me with diagonal and/or rotating zappers, or is that meant to be really easy?

After an extended period of my computer not working, I'm back with some more stuff coming soon! Repeat: I am not dead, alive and programming!
Also, about my previous question of diagonal and rotating zappers: would it be hard and complicated, or easy?

Maybe if you just make a tile that auto kills, you could make diagonal, but make sure the hitbox or whatever is ONLY on the zapper.
I think that it would be a little hard getting the rotating zappers, though. The one's in JPJR spin from the middle, while the Mari0 ones spin from the edge.
Also, CJ99; I'm making a better version of your TIT0L and calling it TIT0L2. is that okay?

This is really old.
However, I have not given up. (Rather, I am kinda busy.)
This is not really going to turn out how I wanted, because I'm unable to learn lua or LOVE2D from anyone in RL.
Feel free to shout at me if this is an unnecessary update on progress (or lack thereof).
