QCode! It's a lot easier to make something different.
Rename the .love to .zip,
Unzip.
Edit with Notepad++,
If you want to make something, I'd start with the variables.lua for you. You can make something out of that. A little mod of some sort. Drag the folder on top of your love application to run it.
Or make a zipped folder, put everything in it, then rename the .zip to .love

well i want it to be 2 blocks high and it will follow you. where ever you place it on level editor, they will spawn from a huge falling flame like in the actual game. im trying to set my mappack right now and ive already got the music set for it. with the Hyperion Loader mod i could finish it up. also no bullets, but only if you want to play with the guns&grenades mod.

Not too bad. Spawn like a companion cube, then follow x cord...

it can jump when you are at any hieght, but no it cannot fly because they dont do that in the actuall game. they do use boosters to jump though.

Well Paint.net is a free download, but if that is a problem, you can always shell out a couple hundred dollars and get photoshop.

Draw a picture of the thing. One stationary, one with it's legs apart.
If you want more fluid animation do another with the other leg forward.
Make a new image and add flames to the boosters with Bowser's flame.
This will be around 16 x 32 per frame. You could even use the hammer bros images as a template. After you've done that then you can upload and hopefully they'll still be up for coding it.

Well myself and Maurice use the following method. (yeah pay attention to the fact he does it more than me)
Use MS Paint (specifically the pencil tool) which comes with windows to make the basic sprite art then open it up in GiMP (or in this case since you've got it now Paint.Net) and delete the background to give it transparency

I'm just not keen on just having complete mods made for people just because they couldn't be bothered to learn. Making simplistic Mario style art should be easy enough to do. It's not like the graphics have to be Castlevania style or anything...
