If I've heard correctly, in Mari0 SE, Maurice is going to add something so you can add your own characters. I'm not really sure though.

That's why I said I'm not sure. I know that somewhere, Maurice said that. Like I said, I'm not sure. And no, it's not an auto spriter. I think you have to make the character's sprites (like Hans did), then you have to do some other unknown stuff, and tada.

There is a nice place on the internetz that's called ''The Spriter's Resource'', that already had ripped the tiles and sprites of various games, including NES games, out for you, saving you both the time and the trouble of doing it yourself. I ripped some of the games up there and AnimGet is a so much easier way to do that. It printscreens each time the image changes so you get the process pretty much done. SE uses different hat off-sets for different characters. Meaning hats will move to fit Chell, Mario, Link, Luigi, Commander Viridian, Atlas and whoever else anyone feels like making. As long as the sprites have a standard distance around all of them on the sheet they don't even need to line up with the standard Mario ones to work ingame. It's a pretty win system however it needs more coding than the drag and drop mods we have now.
