Play as Custom Characters? ie: Spikey, Lakitu, Etc.

I saw a mod called G00mba and found it quite cool to be able to play as a goomba. This has led me to an endless quest trying to figure out, how do you do such a thing? I would like to play as a koopa and when i get the shroom i would grow wings and get a little bigger. Idk just a thought, would be really cool if it was possible.

It is possible, just change the graphics, and probably the movement.

Go to graphics/SMB/player. You gotta change the ones the with the numbers, they are parts of the complete character. Every image is colored later with the color you set. If your character is bigger than the mario, then you have to change the sizes in main.lua from line 506 to line 571.

Have a look at line 549, I laughed so hard :D

I think it would be cool to play as bowser and shoot fire. I will try making this (No promises! I have no previous experience programming, but I think I might be able to)
Probably next saturday I will try to work on this...
Wish me luck. Anyone who can help with pics. for bowser would be appreciated.
