New Super Mario Bros. remake

Yes, I'm remaking New Super Mario Bros. as well! I could use some help with this one. I'm using Treeki and Dirbaio's NSMBe program to get the levels from New Super Mario Bros., and it's actually going pretty well, though I need help putting in the game's backgrounds, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how single-coin bricks work.
