Old Mari0, New Tricks

A mappack being made to showcase Alesan's entities (mostly the non-portal based ones).

Planned content:
-4-5 worlds
-Custom Tiles
-Showcase most new entities, including entities + Powerups included in the mod
-Animated tiles
-Look and feel like a Mario Platformer with little to no planned Portal elements (Subject to change depending on stuffs)

Screenshots:

Current Progress:
World 1 - 100%
World 2 - 100%
World 3- 100%
Worlds beyond that - 0%

It's not exactly "old Mari0" if you're using a mod. Unless you mean in the sense that there are no Portal elements, but I would consider that "old Mario."

Really nice mappack!

My favorite level was the sewers. I liked the way you used non-collidable pipes especially in the end.
This mappack will be even more amazing once you finish it.

It's "Old Mari0" because it's still the same game we love, it's just adding new stuff like enemies and powerups. Mario doesn't play any differently than before.

I really like this mappack, Idiot!
1-3 proved to be quite a challenge, though, the rest was great!
I'd like to see the outcome of this mappack! 7/10.

You guys forgot about "Mappacks Guide and Rating", so I'll put this one there with a rate of 8 (7 from this + 9 from me), because I think it is a cool mappack!

Not likely because the version I used is only compatible with Alesan's mod. I'm not going to stop you if you download the mappack and take it out of there though. Just know it's technically incomplete.

I don't try mappacks that much anymore, but I tried all of what is currently done (/done a few days ago/uploaded a few days ago), and it's a great mappack so far. I'm not really posting this to give Idiot feedback, since he knows how I feel already, but for anyone who wasn't sure about trying it, (and this isn't very persuasive) you should

Yeah this is the first mappack I've tried in a while. It's worth mentioning there's a bug in the tileset. I got stuck on 1-1. There's a wall right after the "fake" flag poll stair thing, that you can jump into.

It's not so much a bug as it is how I laid out the tileset. I may fix it, but I may also just not because that wall is not supposed to be jumped over in the first place. I understand it's a limitation in Mari0 1.6 and I should try to work around it but I think if you try to "break" the level like that it's your own fault you get stuck.

Also you can use portals to get out anyway.

Oh, there was also a wrong tile on that wall too when I checked but I fixed that hopefully you didn't see that it'll be fixed on the next update ignore me.

Update: Ohey here have another 2 levels in the demo, themed around water and whatnot and complete with new castle tiles. Enjoy it. Download is same link in OP since again dropbox be awesome.

And yes I do plan on updating every 2 levels or so done like this because I procrastinate like hell and doing it like this helps me stay focused.

There is something weird. A error occured when I switched to modmappacks, and it randomly crashed. However, when I was playing on this map when I restarted Mari0, I completed World 1-1, but the game says that I completed the mappack

I'm not sure what could have caused that. I haven't touched this mappack for a while so it may not be fully configured with the most recent version of Alesan's mod. All I can tell you is to try redownloading the mappack and see if it gives you the problem again.

Modmappacks is glitchy.
It tries to look for the mappack in modmappacks but it isn't there.

So make sure you put it in modmappacks.

Small Update:
I haven't added any new levels yet, since I'm going to continue this after Alesan updates his mod with the vertical scrolling and whatnot, so in the meantime I decided to update some parts of the graphics, spruce up backgrounds (especially 1-2) and overall improve eye candy. Screenshots have been updated as well.
Download in same place as usual and just posting to let anyone who cares know that I do plan on continuing this.
(3-3 is incomplete but you can see a concept I have planned for a bonus level)

EDIT: I lied, I've had a few good level ideas and will work on them for a bit. For now I'mma leave this here:

Double Post but yeah. I lied again. I just powered through 2 more levels, making this have 3 complete worlds. Download in same place as usual.
I enjoy how 3-3 turned out.

I think I'll hold out until mod update before more levels now. But maybe I'll lie again.

I'm always up for a good beach level. Hopefully at some point a carnival/casino level will exist one day.

I'd suggest using a different colour set for the background as it blends way to easily with the foreground but I like what I sees in that 3-3 shot.

Fixed it, it will be a little bit darker when I next update it. Which may be soon since I enjoy manipulating foreground tiles.

Was it really necessary to state this,
did you seriously think no one coming into a thread with "Alesan's Entities" in the title would figure this out?
