It got referred to as Dr.Willy from Megaman too much, that's why I actually decided to redo him.
Plus the redesign gave me some new and interesting ideas for both story and boss battle(s).

The website counts the original post as one post too, so it was the 102th reply to the OP and also the 103th post :)

It might be quite a while before release though, but I'll do my best!
As for progress, there hasn't been much. I'm currently working on how I should balance Platforming vs. Puzzles. Or should I keep them separate?
I'm no genius with the puzzle elements in Mari0 SE, but I have a few ready to be implemented there where they seem fit.
The problem I face is that basic platforming like in the original Mario is really fun, but when you try to throw in elements of puzzles it feels like the flow of the map is broken.
I thought of a few things for this:
- A puzzle or two at the very end of each level.
- Every fourth level is a puzzle level.
- Keep puzzles simple and spread out through the levels.
Tell me what you guys would like to see the most and I'll give that a try and see how it works out.

I like the idea of worlds ending in puzzle levels myself. Of course a boss is still naturally expected.

I like those ideas. But it makes sense to focus on what you're good at when it comes to puzzles/platforming.

Wary here,

I just created an account to ask you what is the name of the music in your teaser video. (Presuming you changed it)
Also, for Saso/Maurice/Admin people, I got a new IP address (registered to this account). Take note of it so you can identify me.

Already heard of me?
All my posts were deleted, and I am known to create alternate accounts (like this one).

But let's not go off topic, my account will soon go deleted anyway. Jorichi said I have the right to stay, as long I do not provoke other people. I won't then.

Music hasn't changed. More has been added.
But your question has been asked before.

Unless you cannot really find the guy in question, you can simply upload the music file to somewhere.

So I understand that it'll be a while before the mappack is completed, but it'd be neat to see some footage of some of the levels, to show what's changed since the last video. Understand if you can't due to spoilers/incomplete stuff

The mappack was made in final release of SE , we can't play it until SE's released .

If the final release of SE is not released, then the mappack wasn't made for the final release of SE since the final release of SE is not even released.

Jorichi (and a few other users) has earlier access to the latest versions of SE, in which he made his mappack, but we don't.

Technically mari0 SE isn't released. There are betas, but they're only talked about here, not on the main site.
The mappack will most likely be worked on more when SE is finished because it's a bit annoying having to change things with every new beta.

I've been neglecting this mappack quite a bit. A reason is that I keep bumping into issues that I'd need to work around if I wish for it to end up as I want it to. Some beta related, some aren't. I just can't seem to find myself taking the time and figuring out new ways of doing certain things or coming up with something completely new to replace that idea. But that's not the main reason.
My focus lies on finding a job and trying to find myself, so trying to pick this mappack back up is easily forgotten.
Lately I've been going through some rough times with my family as well, so I don't think you should expect any updates on this mappack for quite a while.

I'm not sure whether I should abandon this mappack or just continue it when I'm capable.
For now I'll leave it as it is and try to work on it when I can, but it still needs tons of work.

On another note, I believe I've said that I would think about asking people for help. And I just might know a few people who would be eager to do so.
If I can think of a way for them to help me, without consistency suffering from it, I might just have the ticket to get this mappack going again...
No promises though...

Wary; I told you this three times already, I'll tell you who they are when I've released the mappack/demo or if I abandon the project.

So yeah, in short: Eventually... or maybe never™

Help is always good. And it's not a huge problem that you've slowed down. Large scale projects usually take a lot of time.

This looks cool. I love the feel of a factory and the detailed backgrounds. I'll try it soon, no doubt.

What program do you use to get the tilesets, and if you get them online, where do you get them?
Thanks, Mr. Kabbage

More specific; the writer of this music is known as steampianist on Youtube and Newgrounds. Look him up and you'll find it. He's pretty damn good!
While he usually does vocaloid covers and songs, he does steampunk style music and remixes as well, which are really amazing.

With that said, I decided that I will quit this mappack completely.
I'm already struggling to keep my other projects alive and I really want to focus on only two of them.

Now... this doesn't mean it wouldn't have to see the light of day. There are a bunch of talented people here on the forum that, if they work together properly, would easily be able to top what I could do with this idea for a mappack.
I mean, we can't ignore the amazing sprites people created, the great level designs and the mind-benging puzzles...
Take the people who come to your mind first when you read that and imagine what kind of a masterpiece they could create if they just joined forces.
I'd be more than honored if a group of talented people like that would be willing to make this mappack what it was meant to become.
If you guys are able to form a group like this I can explain them the specific idea for each level, enemy, boss and not to forget; the story.

But, whether the community can still make this a thing or not, I'm still sorry to disappoint you guys... even though you could've seen it coming from a year ago.

So, is this like a vote? Are we casting ourselves in this?
Will the mapwork be done here or in a new thread, or through PMs?
Can you at least post what you've made? Or will you be doing that once the grouping has started?

So many questions. Also i want in

Unrelated, but the song is right here:

You already know this because I always offered to help you during development but if you did go through (or whoever did go through the process) with I'd be more than happy to help.
I miss working with the community and the fact that I was in charge of a group mappack before (Mario Special) I'd be willing to help manage it if possible.

I really don't want to see this idea left behind. Good luck with your other projects Jorichi!
