Good news everyone! This isn't dead!

And sorry for the bump (and double post), but I'd like to present some updates in the newer version I'm releasing soon.
A brand new tileset (big thank you to the All Night Stabyourself group for a couple of the tiles)

(some tiles might be left out because I tried them, they didn't look good, and I wiped them from the map completely)
Most are revamps of the regular tiles, but some are completely new.
Any feedback would be nice.

Oh, and here's an example on how it looks (overworld, 1-1)

Need testers for the Blue Battlecastle.
Blue Castle Test download with New Graphics
There are going to be 4 in TMWNN.
One in World 3, World 5, World 7 and World 8, and they focus on Portal Puzzles, some difficult, some mind bending.
(This isn't really an update to the map itself, this is to see if people can complete the castle fine on they're own).

Here's a preview of the new tiles in action!

Progress has been made!
Regular Pipes will now be purple (red inside castles), and the World Pipes will be blue.
The main post has also been updated, included all the progress up till now.
To me, the new castle tiles look like shit, I might just redo the old one I re-did the old one, and got something much better.
Expect another release shortly.

The version of me from months back would say "use the up and left tips of pipes for down and right pipes respectively like SMB2J and SMBS plus SMB3 and SMW", but it's a very minor detail and also it's not my mappack.

The only thing I will comment on; and this is something very easy to miss, since I've done it myself as well. A vertical pipe that goes into a horizontal pipe on the right side by default has improper dithering.

Blended out some of the colors in the white-blue pattern, I think it looks nicer than it was before. The background still sucks, so I may change that.
At the moment, I'm still working out a few things with some of the newer tiles, then it's back to regular level-design.

(also, this may be asking a lot but) It would be nice if someone could make a loop of this for me, from the beginning of the song to around the 1:13 second mark, where it loops itself. I can't find a version of the song where it doesn't fade out at the end.

Well, I tried it... But since Audacity behaves weird for me and I'm not experienced, it's not the best result. You can keep it as a placeholder if somebody makes something better.

I've decided on making a small mod for this.

Changes :
- New Coinbox Texture
- All music for levels changed
  • - Overworld : ???
    - Underworld : ???
    - Underwater : Dire Dire Docks 8-Bit Rendition
    - Castle : ???
Might be more that I'm forgetting, but I am very tired.
More levels have been worked on, and a few tweaked as well.

I would darken the background a little bit, that way it dosen't look like you can jump on the platforms in the back.

Well if the background scrolls at a different rate, it wouldn't be needed to make it darker. Can't really tell from a single picture

I was thinking of changing the music beat to something along the lines of this.
Personally, I think this song in particular could be a great overworld theme.
Would need a bit of tweaking though for it to work.

I think you should make the background brighter, not darker.
It should have less contrast with the background, not more.
otherwise it looks more solid.

Should probably post an update.

First of all, the mod I've been talking about is going great. Still needs a few tweaks, like the other levels having custom music, and the music that's already in the game, I have to make a lot quieter.
But, if anyone wants to try it out in it's beta, I'm not stopping you.
The mod itself isn't very complex. Just music, and sprite changes to make the game look more into the TMWNN world.

Second, like I promised. I have been working about on more levels. I've got one or two good ideas I would like to try out, and once they seem like they can be put in, I'll send a little .zip for people to test it out and give me their thoughts.
