Hello! I'm numlock09azz (so original), long time reader, first time poster.
I'm here to present to you my first Map-pack ever.

Story:
It was a normal day in the Mari0 World, but someone was playing with the game files, and glitched
the levels. Mario went to check that out and found greyed out parts of the world, the more
he kept going, the weirder the world looked... and finally started "game-jumping".

How it looks:

Extra levels?

Hmm... Could it be...

Yet another
MINECRAFT
level?
Can we have a mappack that makes no mention to the most overused element of Mari0 besides ponies?

Also, the Windows-based level looks very choppy. May I recommend drawing the graphics/background from scratch?

Oh, and in 1-3_2, you can just portal the glass tube and the pipe = Room Done.

BTW, I do like some of the concepts you have going on. I chuckled at the glitch remix of the SMB music (feels like I'm playing Normal Mario Bros.)

numlock09azz, the map was awesome and the concept was very interesting. I especially liked the 1-3 level that had a twist to some of the tiles. And I always love "playing on the windows home screen" leves. I alsough thought the minecraft map looked realy awesome although you cant put checkpoints in sublevels so you are gonna have to fix that.

I feel we've gotten to the point where once someone sees a minecraft tileset, they remember back when it USED to be overused and dont want to see it anymore at all. It sometimes feels like no-one's allowed to make minecraft maps anymore, and I'm sure we have tones of maps that make no use of this. Also the minecraft tileset is usually the first different tileset a new person would see.

It's not overused because then it would still have to be used.

It was overused back when mari0 was released.
Btw, nice mappack, you put effort in it. I love the glitched music.

Best one world mappack ever!

But, maybe you should make it more levels, and less long.

It gets really annoying having to play 1-4 12 times to beat it. (and once I had the flag in sight and ran out of time)

Sorry I hadn't given much praise to this mappack yet, I really like the "passthrough 1-1", Minesweeper, and Tetris levels. Though with the Tetris room, I'd recomend adding a reset pipe of sorts because I ended up killing off the Red Koopa you needed to reveal the exit with fieballs, and there were no pipes nearby, so I had to commit suicide.

Found a few other Tetris refs in the Minecraft and Minesweeper levels. Overall I hope you decide to make more levels. :)

Thank you all, for everything!
Now to answer the questions:
Superjustinbros wrote:Can we have a mappack that makes no mention to the most overused element of Mari0 besides ponies?
So you mean less minecraft, more TOM?!?!?
Legend_of_Kirby wrote:What game is this supposed to be?

CraftFighter, something like StreetFighter, but... minecrafted. "Ughh Guys" say: Ughhhhh!
Superjustinbros wrote:Though with the Tetris room, I'd recomend adding a reset pipe of sorts because I ended up killing off the Red Koopa you needed to reveal the exit with fieballs, and there were no pipes nearby, so I had to commit suicide.
Added the "Ultimate Reset Pipe". :)

Level 1-3_2 "cheat" fixed, and music... guess who made it. It was me! Yes me, thank you, thank you for the applause.
In the "minecraft" level ("ugh guys" say: Ughhh!) the checkpoints are there, but don't see to work. Maybe the update fixed it, maybe...

Thank you again! :)

With checkpoints not working in the Minecraft level, this is a problem that's plagued all of us. Checkpoints only work in the main levels, therefore they don't do anything in sub-levels. However, you can try placing part of a sub-level into the main level, like a small room or something reachable via a pipe, and put the checkpoint there. I had to do it with my own mappack, A0zora.

All this dislike over Minecraft I've been showing is because I myself am not a Minecraft player. I find it strange how people treat Creepers as some form of mass-killing monsters when they look like they'd be very vulnerable to decapitation and physically weak overall. However since this isn't my mappack, I'll lay off on the anti-Minecraft stuff for the time being.

Primarily I don't have anything against MC nor would beat someone up over it, I just never got into it myself nor understood all the hype and fame it has.

Sooooo... while You were talking about minecraft, I have updated some things. Made minecraft the main level, so checkpoints work now (yay).
BobTheLawyer wrote:Also, I love your pinky pie tiles.
Yeah, me too, thanks. :)

Away with minecraft now, I NEED IDEAS for next levels... I... I don't know... (I don't think You want a Sudoku level? -_- )

Now I shall talk about my adventure with minecraft... well I played it, but found out Mari0 and... minecraft icon collects dust now...
Oh, and the A0zora mappack is great, I like it. :)

Well... at the beginning it was supposed to be only Mario worlds, but it became the thing it is now, which I think is better. Have to change the description a bit.
Order of Twilight level done, working on Pac-Man and Trosh levels (don't how it will look like, Mari0 is not so dynamic like Trosh).

Added Order of Twilight, Pac-Man and Trosh levels. Please write about bugs, what to fix and stuff. :)

in the rocket part of 3-3, try setting the background to black, it looks weird when you break a block
inb4t'saglitchlevel

also, i really enjoyed the minecraft level, it was really nice designed, and i love how it goes through the different phases of a playthrough, you could also add some megaman stuff maybe, or kirby, or a zelda level, that would be nice

anyway, thanks for sharing this awesome mappack, it's epic

I'm sorry but I'm not really fond of the designs you gave to the Pac-Man ghosts. If you want ones that look exactly like Pac-Man ghosts, you can use these. http://spriters-resource.com/arcade/pacman/sheet/52631

I do like the new Windows tile set, and the Order of Twlight level looks very badass.

The rocket part isn't black, because it's still the first level, but farther (did this so checkpoints work).
Megaman, Kirby and Zelda levels, didn't play that games, I know them from game plays and stuff, but did not play them by myself. Maybe will add them in some future update.

Thanks for the sprites, will be included in the next update. And maybe will use some other sprites from that website. :)
Windows tile set... you like? Thanks! :D I was working hard on the Order of Twilight levels, took me a lot of time. :P

Currently playing the new version. That Ultimate Reset Pipe sure came in handy.

I suggest maybe you try and tinker with the layouts of the first two levels; since currently they just being edits/recolors of the original levels does get a little bland, maybe try reconfiguring some of the glitched areas and scrambling blocks around to up the variety. And maybe make the Minesweeper celling tiles non portable.

If you want some level ideas; I could contribute some NES games that I've played via emulation.

And I still accept level ideas. Can be anything (I will have to make the tiles.png bigger then). :)

Well, I like the cheese level thing and maybe the "ruins" level (row 9, second column).
Could You give the names of those games, (if You know them) I have to get the feel of the game (which means playing them, but I think everyone knows what I mean)
Thanks for helping! :)

What about a Crash Bandicoot level?

Just a question, whats the 8th one (row 3, #2)? The one with the big-ass head? Looks sorta like the bald guy from DragonBall.

I don't have anything against a good shell maze/puzzle here and there (heck, SMB3 had a few of them, mainly 2-3, and even newer Mario games feature them), the problem with 0' Bros was that they were used excessively. With this map pack, it's only one room in one level, and it's not one where you have to save a Koopa shell you find early in a level and/or reuse the same shell you already used to break down a wall or even using portals to launch the shell to a higher surface.

ok, i just thought a bit more about the "logical" part, and ur right, since it's a PC game, and this is demonstrated deliberately by throwing mario at the desktop, so yeah, keep up the good job, and be sure to throw out a NES emulator icon on that desktop level, so at least it would be "possible" to bug into NES games :P

small details nobody cares about, but make it just that bit better ^^
