Looks pretty nice!
Also, if you want to put up screenshots, just use Imgur. The URL for the pic should look like this:

Code: Select all

http://i.imgur.com/codehere
To get that URL, when you're finished uploading the screenshots, just click on it, then Copy/Paste that link.
Then again, I think you can just add that "i." to the beginning of the URL.

Good god, why can't this all be one convent .zip file uploaded to either Dropbox or Mediafire? I can't find any full download links in the Google Documents page, and downloading every file individually would just be problematic.

The .zip file is missing the tile set. I went to mari0bros2's SMB remastered to get the tileset. However it results in many of the other levels (1-4, 2-3) becoming broken.

Anyways onto the maps themselves: I'm sorry if I get two critical over these, but 1-1 looks like a very blatant SMB 1-1 edit. It may also be worth noting unless it's intended, the bone tiles you used to make the stems of the mushroom platforms are considered solid by Mari0, therefore I had to go over the mushrooms to continue through the level.

1-3: An easy part for Mario to get stuck if he's Super or Fire Mario, and Fire Flowers will spawn inside the solid mushroom, unobtainable without the Portal Gun. Some parts of this level felt like rehashes of 1-1, though after skimming over with the editor, I can see this is another "time progression" mappack where you play the same level multiple times as it advances through time.

I think I should bring up it's possible to upload things to Mediafire as a guest without an account. And I'd recommend making the levels from scratch rather than building off SMB1's maps. But I do see this map pack having high potentinal if executed properly.

P.S. Try to avoid using foreground cloud tiles if there's already clouds in the background, same for the green hills.

Updated and reuploaded, should work now.
Anyways onto the maps themselves: I'm sorry if I get two critical over these, but 1-1 looks like a very blatant SMB 1-1 edit. If your not critical I'll have trouble improving my levels. That's actually what all of world one was supposed to be, but now that I think about it maybe it shouldn't be, all probably fix that soon. The reason I chose the bones was because they were solid.
1-3: An easy part for Mario to get stuck if he's Super or Fire Mario, and Fire Flowers will spawn inside the solid mushroom, unobtainable without the Portal Gun. Yeah kinda got lazy there, I'll probably fix that soon too! You can obtain it with the portal gun?! Yeah that's what it's supposed to be, If you don't like the fact that it's rehashed I could reorganize the levels. It wouldn't fix it but it would make it less noticeable.
I think I should bring up it's possible to upload things to Mediafire as a guest without an account. And I'd recommend making the levels from scratch rather than building off SMB1's maps. But I do see this map pack having high potentinal if executed properly.
Well, I signed up for a MediaFire account so it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm probably going to put in a Minus World into my own mappack, come to think of it.

Yeah I know... Just think If I spent the time I spent on the minus world working on the other worlds, I could have a whole 7 worlds done.
Have a GIF!
Image
Update: added redid 1-1 and 1-2 decide to stop having my mappack be time progression styled.
I here by decree that world 1 shall now be know as the world of disproportional sizes, alternatively you can just call it world 1.
Feedback on the redone world's would be appreciated.
On the side, has anyone managed to beat the minus world?
Edit: Opps! Forgot the mappack now requires Turtle's Extra Entities Mod
Edit: Opps! No longer requires Turtle's Extra Entities Mod

Thanks for letting me know. It's fixed now though 1-2_2 is broken. I just rerouted so that 1-2_2 isn't used at all. I also added a checkpoint.

I'm still not 100 percent sure if it's beatable or if I'm just missing something to finding the exit.

Also, the mushroom in one of the smaller levels will make the player stuck, unless that's the point...

Opps! I guarantee it's beatable. Want a hint?
edit: Opps I was wrong, while rerouting a forgot something. It'll be fixed in a jiffy.

Okay! Everything should be fixed now!

There is a empty level with NO tiles a custom background and a random warp spot. WHAT THE HECK?
Also, it crashes on one of the sublevels in the editor for level 2.

Yeah that empty level was used to figure out how to get to the minus world through a level pipe(I never ended up figuring that out) and other text level experimentation. Yeah, that's a know problem, I rerouted all the other sublevels, because I was to lazy to remake it. After I finished rerouting, I was to lazy to delete it.

Slight Update: made the minus world accessible from world one. Can you find it?
I also hear by designate the not currently started World Two as "Tall Tall Mountain" also known as World Two.

That was actually intentional. I thought it would be neat to allow people to complete the level in multiple ways. I kinda forgot to add spinies and other obstacles in the mountain pass area though...
