A good number of you in the online community may recognize this little (though controversial) gem; the C64 classic The Great Giana Sisters, adapted for play in Mari0.

Yea I'm aware of it. Though I'm not too fond with it since Maria is not in it, and the additional power ups after the power up ball that makes you punk is not present.bubba_nate wrote:Do you know that there's a new giana sisters game out? "Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams" It's on steam.

If you ever played Giana Sisters, the bonus rooms are accessed through touching barely visible platforms located in specific pits. Since there isn't a contact warp tile entity (touch a tile and you get warped to a new location, as if you entered a pipe), I made the entire body of "water" act alike pipes to take you into a bonus room.
Why such tiles exist is for the purpose of remaking one of the two unofficial sequels to Giana Sisters, this one in particular is from The Seven-A-Three (7A3), which has swimming upon entering certain bodies of water, which of course mari0 1.6 lacks a water entity to define parts of the level where swimming is possible, so without said tiles, a room like this wouldn't be passable:

So you're saying there's only maria in the game, and giana isn't in the game? Does not make sense.

its changing between the two sisters im sure.
If you're still talking about TD, last time i checked it was Maria being kidnapped and Giana going into the Dream World to rescue her: Giana has learned how to control/manipulate her dreams, so she can transform herself and the whole Dream World at her will, so that's what the switching thing is, not changing between the 2 sisters.bubba_nate wrote:its changing between the two sisters im sure.

I was going to say that earlier but never bothered to. Thanks or doing the honors for me.TheSeek wrote:If you're still talking about TD, last time i checked it was Maria being kidnapped and Giana going into the Dream World to rescue her: Giana has learned how to control/manipulate her dreams, so she can transform herself and the whole Dream World at her will, so that's what the switching thing is, not changing between the 2 sisters.bubba_nate wrote:its changing between the two sisters im sure.

I decided to resume progress on this mappack, especially with how much there's left.
I added in both 6-4 and 7-1 into my local build, and thus all that remains is the remainder of World 7.

There is one thing I should bring up.
In some of the castle worlds, since Bowser can collide with tiles above him, you must eliminate him with either the Portal Gun or fireballs, or just portal past him. I found this to be a big problem if playing this mappack with the SMB+ mod as Bowser blocks your way out, and a lot of the castles have no powerups!
Go ahead and modify the Bowser rooms to your choosing to at least allow Mario to run under Bowser in some way if not armed with fireballs. You can give Bowser his trademark fire in the castles where you'd fight the dragon in GGS and not the spider.
