You know, I'm gonna make a suggestion on levels, since we're accepting them now but haven't gotten many.
I suggest that all the team leaders start making the levels for the mappack, so we can have a good, complete mappack. Then if/when other people contribute good levels, we'll replace the team leader levels with those levels.

I also suggest we change the thread's title to say [Now Accepting Levels], so people might start making some.

You can always try one of the earlier of the mappack's levels if you cannot do 1-1.

just finished playing the level

first off thank you for actually reading how to submit a level,
I loved how you've used the tiles (never thought to have used bricks for buildings :P, I may steel that for 1-1)
and good job with the sub level (jumps are a bit hard to make but I made them easily enough, not sure about bullet bills though)

but when I left the sub level I hit a turtle shell and the ship got destroyed... I'll find a way to change that so it won't break,
and I'm not to comfortable with the flag pole, I may change the goal to a sphere or something once I'm done modding (haven't started yet.) to make it easier for level designers.

seriously though good job, I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this. :)

Played the level, was very impressed. Ships looked fantastic (loved the goomba and koopa-shell sails the best :3), the level was fun, and it fit the world theme and difficulty. And it also used the tileset in a creative way, which we're looking for. I approve of this level. Heck, I hope you make more.

Also if you want moar levels, you should change the title to include 'group mappack'

A custom BG with the casino in view (not using blocks to make a day->night transition in the same room) and a more colorful use of tiles (search up Las Vegas or Casino for ideas) will help.

And also, it may be just me, but now that I saw it in it's entirety, Automatik's level (2-1) seems too short at a quick glance at the minimap. Maybe some more coins and ? blocks, sand islands and piers (think of the second world from Donkey Kong Country Returns) and a multi-layered background with ships, clouds, and islands in the distance (plus removing the foreground clouds and the pirate ships on clouds) will make 2-1 shine a little more.

I've come with a few things. Level reviews, a level, and a simple background. (Big post ahoy)

Level reviews:
Renhoex's level was very fun, and a perfect fit for a first level. Simple, not hard, and enjoyable. Liked how you used the building idea you "borrowed" from Automatik, and loved the sub-level's look. Definitely a good 1-1 level.

Turret's level: ... uh... yeah. Kinda just random, and doesn't fit the casino theme, if you meant it for 4-1. It was interesting, but I couldn't find the exit either. Was just a big ol' maze. Touch it up and it could be a good level though. And make sure to use tiles in the theme, if you want casino, use golden tiles or something that matches a casino atmosphere.

Now, for my level. It's meant for World 1, as it's a rooftop-jumping level. I'm labeling it as 1-3, for now. (I also "borrowed" the building idea.)

that was a good level idiot 9.0 (btw did you want that background to be used for all world 1 levels or just your level?)
but I'm not sure about using koopa shells next to bricks (they break the roof tops) and maybe replace the ones on the inside section with the unbreakable blocks (the ones that made up the staircases at the end of each level in smb for example.) instead (and the bricks at the left of the first sub room are solid :P)

and what was with the storage cube on the right of the buildings?

Not really sure what you mean by storage cubes. As for the koopas, not really much of an enemy choice, as it is world 1 and didn't want to introduce spiny or buzzy beetle to the world. So it was either koopas or a level of only goombas.
You can go ahead and make any changes to the level as you see fit though, I won't mind.
Also, the background is still technically yours, just lowered to make the roofs appear level with the ones in the level. So make it level-specific.

bottom left is a goal sphere, basically a way for level creators to end the level without the flag pole (if you've played Automatiks submission which was brill you know what I mean.)

and last but not least walking off screen to end the level... Yep laziness at it's best.

if you guys want I can add the sphere and keep the flag pole intact since it's already in game.

While it looks playable, I don't think it'd be fit for this map pack, mainly for the excessive amount of lasers. Not to mention (i know there are no custom tiles, however) the level looks as if it follows no theme.
Looking deeper into it, I've decided I'm not really comfortable with putting in puzzle-based levels since they'd be difficult to make follow the eight themes as well as a suitable difficulty. Of course portals can still be necessary for reaching areas impossible without the gun, and maybe a few portal entities/elements in the later levels to add some challenge (like bring a portal cube to a button and access a different path of the level), but not laser spam or merging lasers with grills or light bridges to fool/confuse players. :\

Another rule, just incase this hasn't been brought up already; every level should have a minimum of two and a maximum of 5 mushrooms/flowers, and either no or a single (well-hidden and difficult to reach) 1UP mushroom, and zero to two stars. Plus, a level should be beatable by both Small Mario and Big Mario.

Can I know what is being done?
I would feel really guilty if I fought with someone else for a level...
