I can't get this mappack to play. When I try to select the mappack from the Mari0 menu the game crashes.

In case anyone else was like me and didn't understand "use the turret mod", it is necessary to download both files. One is the mappack, the other is the turret mod. The mappack can be installed normally in your Mari0 mappack folder. Then the the second file, the one called mari0_1.6_turrets_v0.6rc.zip must be unzipped in the Mari0 configuration folder. The configuration folder is the folder which contains the "mappack" folder. and your suspended game. Unzip the mari0_1.6_turrets_v0.6rc.zip file into the configuration folder (not into the mods folder, that won't work).

Then, once the mod has been unzipped, run Mari0 normally. It should automatically use the mod.

*facepalm* you can give the turret mod where you want

Does that mean I need the source, not just the .exe, version of Mari0? If it does, damn. I'm too lazy to get it.

No, you just need the two downloads that are in the first post. Install the mappack like normal, then just run the standalone turret mod.
Simple as that.

The turret mod doesn't appear to have any exe or love file in it, how is a player supposed to "run" the turret mod if there isn't anything to run?

By the way, the mappack is a lot of fun. There are some creative puzzles in there and it's well worth playing.

just take the mappack folder to appdata/love\mari0\mappack\s and them unpack the turret mod and click two times on the love file but you need love first innstalled you can download it here https://love2d.org/

I have Love installed and I've been playing Mari0 for over a month with it. My problem is there doesn't appear to be any .love file in the turret mod archive. I found I could get the mappack working by unpacking the mod into the Mari0 config folder.

Since I already got it working (see previous post) I don't see the point in downloading and installing it again. I think it's a really well done mappack.

So you're saying,
1. Get LOVE 0.8.0
2. Get turret mod
3. Put turret mod in '[blah blah] appdata/love/mari0' folder
3. Run Mari0 (even as .exe).
Right?

and guys, use the .love mod, its very easy, run the .love file with the last version of love (0.8.0)

and put the mappack in mari0´s mappack folders. the turrets for the mari0 moddindgsystem doesn´t work in my mappack.

I played this through to the end and I really enjoyed it. There are some tricky puzzles, a lot of variety. I have a suggestion for future versions, if you continue to work on this mappack. In some levels I found if I died the game would transport me back to a place where I couldn't advance because the room had been reset. If I remember correctly level 1-3 and 3-3 did this. I'd get to the next stage, die and be transported back to a a room where I couldn't escape from because the puzzle had gone back to its original state. I think it would be better if the check-point was at the beginning of the room where the player dies, instead of at the end of the previous section. One of the last levels, I think it's 8-1 does something like this. If the player dies, they not only go back to the beginning of the room, but back to the start of the level where they have to re-watch an short intro sequence. This breaks up the play a little.

These minor issues aside, this mappack was really well thought out and I had a lot of fun with it. Thanks!
