Checkpoints dispense mushrooms in NSMB Wii, so the suggestion (probably) wasn't without reason.

yes, but you can't put two entities on one block. and we already have a power-up block any way, there's is no need.

I'd say the same thing here.

I'm kinda on my limits as well with being able to work on this map pack, though I do want to be a part of it badly (like maybe getting some personal graffiti on one of World 4's backgrounds) since this is a joint project and I want to obtain some recognition outside of distributing and editing the SMBS map pack as well as my original Aozora map pack.

I can handle making four water-themed levels, though the tile set and backgrounds (especially the later) I may have to leave to another person. The ideas I have for the world's layout could work as follows.

4-1: Begins as an underwater level, formed with crystal blocks and scenery of various colors, composing of both the solid and breakable blocks. Ends with the player entering a blue cave, similar to the one in Assasin's levels he donated, but dark blue in color, with many variants of crystals as a scenery object, and water instead of lava. It also has plant life sprouting inside small glass domes, placed in both the background and foreground.
4-2: Continues the aquatic cave theme from 4-1, but also has an underwater dungeon as an optional sub level that can only be accessed when in Super or Fire mode (as the entrance is blocked by Brick Blocks).
4-3: An "intermission" takes the player up to the surface, where he/she enters a city alike the ones shown in previous screens of this map pack, but the sky is blue, the buildings have visible leaks, and various plants have grown on the surfaces of the ground and buildings. It also has areas meant to be flooded with water. A bonus room that can be found in this level is a blue sewer room with pixel graffiti of my character Aozora painted on the walls, and his name also spelt out next to him: http://aozoraadventure.wikia.com/wiki/Aozora
4-4: The player returns underground, but clear glass tubes run rampant throughout the level in a maze-like fashion, which the player races through and around before confronting Bowser at the end.

So those are my ideas. Are they any good?

Are they any good? Yes, they are! I'm not sure how you guys get such good ideas, but whatever you're doing, keep doing it!

Your ideas sound really good, but as you said, there's no one working on the background and tileset. I'm really busy working on all of world 2, so I can't really help you there. Maybe if someone else could do world 4 background and tileset, then we could get that world up and running.

Those are some really nice looking levels MrCytosine. Any news on the last world? As in has work been done on the tiles and backgrounds? Oh and I have one more level to go I think. I'm waiting for inspiration to strike again right now though. Also I'm not sure if 2 and 4 are good or not at the moment so I'll keep trying to improve them.

Well, it's been almost a month since our last update, but I'm finally kickstarting the mappack once again. I've updated the progress chart, and it looks like we're almost complete! Only World 4 needs starting, and there's only world's 3, 5 and 6 to make levels for. It's the final few hurdles now, and if anyone's willing to create a background and tileset for World 4, that would be much appreciated.

Also, I think the project is far enough along to release a demo of the game! Here's World 1 by Willware (the download's also in the description): http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?u64wou8y026qgc7

Just got finished with the demo. So far, very enjoyable, and the tilesets and background fit well and are just sexy. I did notice 2 weird things though:
1) For some reason, when playing this on my Mac, the faith plates in World 1-1 don't work right, often making me shoot of to my death. It happened about 1/2 the time I tried it. It works fine completely on my PC though. I dunno why this is the case, but you might need to check it out. (Or at least have someone else with a Mac try it.)
2) World 1-4's background starts wrapping toward the end of the level, so when you get to the flag you're able to see 2 earths. Just letting you know. Maybe extend that background a little so that's not possible

Other than that, Great work. I can't wait to see more! :D

If Assasian can provide the tile set (may decide to add some things to make it more futuristic/utopian, like those aqua domes from Sonic 2 GG's third zone) and backgrounds, I'll gladly do World 4's levels. Just don't rush me like what BobTheLawyer did (which resulted in me abandoning creating a level for the mappack), kay?

All I need to clarify; will these be straight-up platforming levels with no puzzle elements (except for using Portals to reach platforms)?

Exactly. Also, to Assassin-Kiashi, is it ok if I change all of the completely black areas in your part of the tileset to a very dark blue? Whenever black is used, it tends to dull the tileset, and all of mine substitute dark blue for black.

I know it sounds wrong put like this but I did kind of have this exact feeling when I found them. By the by, the 'logo' on the front would make a good icon if it was square. oh and why is the moon shading wrong again?

Already made the logo, here it is: Image

And I just finished fixing the moon shading again. It was because I was clearing out all of the mappacks I don't play anymore and I deleted one of the WNTGD that had the proper shading. So don't worry, it's fine.

Not right now it isn't. Maybe I'll allow it to be released when the mappack is finished, but I'd need Assassin Kiashi's permission for that, because he worked on it too.

ALSO, i thought it was about time i got of my tits and started getting back on this, i feel like since superjustin needed me to do tiles for him, which i PROMISED to do straight away, which as you can tell, didn't happen, cos I'm a douche, and I'm sorry about that, but that this project has been dying? now look, this project is simply to flippin badass to given up on, so let revive it. everyone, lets get back to work! that is unless... your busy with real life stuff or other stuff or stuff.

HOW THE HECK DID I NOT SEE THIS BEFORE

I read every single comment on this.

This map pack is going to be mindblowing. Everyone here should definitely feel proud of themselves. The concept, amazing backgrounds, all this is blowing my mind here. It's a shame I came too late to help with level design.

Anyways, this is awesome. Can't wait for this to be released. World 2 looks like my favourite so far.

Ok, I know I haven't updated this in a long time, and I apologise for that. I have no real reason or excuse to give to you all besides being a little lazy with the whole project. I'm sorry.

Anyways, the project is very close to completion. Half of the worlds are fully completed, Worlds 3 and 6 need levels creating for them (I believe it was WillWare and Assasin-Kiashi respectively who said that they wanted to do this), and we need to get the tileset and levels completed for World 4 (I think it was SuperJustinBros who said that he wanted to do the levels). Since no one showed any real interest in doing the background and tileset for W4, I'll get on that. I'll have the tileset and background ready for you as soon as possible, SuperJustinBros, so you can get to work on the level design.

Neat, updates. Yeah, this looks like the most imaginative map pack so far. I just can't get enough of those screenshots.

If anyone ends up being unable to make levels then I could help.
