Random thoughts as I work:
The NES colors mixing with the Sharp X1 colors is annoying my OCD.
I hereby declare Paint.NET the best resource for viewing these maps.
"I've got an idea! Let's add a feature where finding the bonus room makes you go BACKWARDS!"
Rest assured that my OCD is correctly measuring all distances. The clouds will be in the appropriate places, and the gaps will be the required length.
My work is going to frustrate someone. I just know it.

I'd help, but it looks like you have it covered ;D
I'll let you know if there's anything you can do
and to WillWare
don't worry we'll fine tune any bugs or graphical mistakes in the map
I'm tthinking leave all the glitched in the pcx version (vine leads to a dead end in a certain level)
and have all secret areas fixed in the nes version (maybe warp zones) I haven't really talked about it though

Also, I'm halfway done. How'm I doin' timewise?
New random thought:
HOW TO GET HEIGHTS CORRECT - Zoom in on map 200% and line up bottom of Mari0 window with bottom of map.
Done.

That was easy. And fun. I wish I could do more, but I don't want to steal the spotlight here.
And I have History to do. *sigh*
Anyway, hope you like it!

Well you've at least lent a hand. I downloaded your contributed world and made the recommended edits to it, and put it with all the others. However, I should mention the underwater sub-level in 5-1 lacks the proper background.WillWare wrote:Done.

I have no background for it; the point was to add the underwater one and it would match up perfectly.Superjustinbros wrote:Well you've at least lent a hand. The PC88 version of the tileset is not an update; it is just for those that want the game to feel like the PC88 version rather than the Sharp X1 version.xXxrenhoekxXx wrote:wait I was actually compiling them myself :P
also I've updated the tileset and backgrounds with the new tileset you made.
As for 5-1's underwater background; my question still goes unanswered as to what existing files I have to copy re-name.

I'll send you a private message once I have all the mappacks compiled
and the graphics thing
does that mean we have to make 3 versoins?
nes, pc88 and sharp x1 map versions?

Okay. I have my edits for the first, third, fifth, and seventh worlds to fix a few minor issues; I only need 5-1 (mainly the background image file(s) sent in to fix the background for the underwater sublevel and make the level set up-to-date. Afterwards I will await the second, fourth, sixth, and eighth worlds from the other contributors.xXxrenhoekxXx wrote:I've fixed the backgrounds and modified the water level in the map he sent inSuperjustinbros wrote:The PC88 version of the tileset is not an update; it is just for those that want the game to feel like the PC88 version rather than the Sharp X1 version.xXxrenhoekxXx wrote:wait I was actually compiling them myself :P

I would suggest sticking with the Sharp X1 tileset; but bundling the PC88 and NES tilesets in a separate folder and include detailed instructions on how to swap to each version, both with keeping one level pack or duplicates; each with a different tileset.

I think It would be easier just to have seperate files for the graphics (backgorunds need to be changed too)
Finished up World 4. Here's the file:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51013077/mari0/ ... cialW4.zip
One note: In 4-2 there's an area where you're supposed to be able to jump over the flagpole to get a few hidden goodies, but since Mari0 has it programmed so there's no way to get over the pole, it's pretty much useless. I put it in so the level's complete though.

But it is...
When you play multiplayer, if someone gets the flag, the others can get passed it and go get the goodies that idiot9.0 was talking about.xXxrenhoekxXx wrote:uuuh what are you talking about Garb0?Garb0 wrote:Most poeple could find that in multiplayer.
And these kind of statements are exactly what I love about my username. ^-^WillWare wrote:...That doesn't sound right...xXxrenhoekxXx wrote:thanks idiot

You'd have to know the map pretty well to get the goodies over there during multiplayer, and be quick too. But yes, it's possible in multiplayer, just not singleplayer.12seth12 wrote:When you play multiplayer, if someone gets the flag, the others can get passed it and go get the goodies that idiot9.0 was talking about.
*watches video*
The mappack is almost finished! Just 2 more worlds! (according to the O.P. at least) I can't wait :D
... but I'm puzzled. Why doesn't player 2 have a fantastic hat tower like player 1 in the video? :<

(making a world, a logo, or something)
but you can design a logo for the mappack if you want.

The above icon I posted was an edit of the PC88 version because in the Mari0 pack selection screen, the "Special" is stretched terribly vertically; and to make it grey (combo of RBG Blue and RGB Yellow), which can be found in many parts of the PC88 version's tileset. To fix this, make sure the area you're placing the Special logo is in the center of a perfect square.xXxrenhoekxXx wrote:well I'll let other people do their levels if their up for it
I can't have the project die just cuz 2 people forgot their submissions.
also I maded 2 icons b4
for the pc Icon
for nes
The Sharp X1 version uses a greener "Special" logo; seen here:
I put "~position available" next to Bonjours and rockit boys names
how ever I'm puting them down in the credits as support since I thought it was kind of them to at least try to help
also just to make it clear
Bonjour and rockit boy aren't kicked off of their worlds but
depending on who's levels I get first
that's the one I'll be accepting.

I'll remove the position available from your name.

it's just that all the other worlds are finished and I really want to get this done.
Based on screen shots alone, it looks bleh with glitchy player sprites. I'm unsure why you have so much fascination for having a rediculous amount of hats.
