Mari0craft World! My first mappack+mod...

I expanded the graphics by combining Minecraft and SNES Mario. I had to re-draw most of the sprites to make sure that everything fits in the game.

I was recording @ 45 FPS and the smallest mari0 resolution. :(

Features:

*Minecraft & SNES Mario Mobs
-Creeper (with different skins depending on the World. Ex; Netherworld has blood red creeper)
-Enderman
-Ghast
*Redstone Wiring
*Other stuff I forgot about...

My goal was to change the look and feel of Mari0 into Minecraft. There are lots of Portal-esque mappack and mods out there so I decided to focus on Minecraft style/gameplay. Most of the item/entities are already done, I just need to work on my level design and add few more tweaks here and there.
I will try to upload a video when I get more levels done.

--Turned off background music to other worlds except when its "night time" levels. I realized that minecraft doesnt really play a lot of music in-game so instead I'll add some sound effects. I hope that I'm permitted to use minecraft effects x.x
--Added mutated piranha plants. Nothing special, its just a reskin.

Project on hold. I'll be working on something else for now.

To Do:
Rework and clean up the entire tileset with HD textures.
FInish World 1-8 Map. I'll write a progress report later on.
Expand minecraft tiles. Theres a lot missing from rinerdar's set but its a good template to work on.
Find someone who can edit small mario animation. :|

Looks cool, but it seems a bit odd to have a SMAS background.

... Well, then it would be a bit odd to have 8-bit Mario. Do what you want.

Um yeah, I wasn't really sure where to post it because its like a mappack and/or mod... i dunno.

I dont have anything else for my background, so I just put that one up for my screenshots. I already have a custom netherworld background but its not that fancy, lol.

Check the Credits, all of the stuff I used for my map/mod is there. My only problem is that it didnt fit to the Mari0 size, so I had to draw some of em pixel by pixel. I will also release the .love source when its completed so you guys can make your own level design or whatever. Just make sure that you give credits when its due. :)


EDIT:

It would be nice if someone can make a SNES Minecraft Mario spritesheet so I can add it to the map. I want to focus on my level design as of now, so if I ever get the chance to update 8-bit mario to 16-bit, then I will do so.

I'm new here so I dont know who that is. Oh and I was talking about mario animation sprites not custom tile sheets. I'll only be using small mario animations with pickaxe so it should not take that long to edit.

its looks pretty good havent played it yet but you should keep going

did you intend for this to be with the portal gun or pickaxe?

Its basically just a platformer, theres a lot of tricky jumps like in smb lost levels and a few optional puzzles except that one with the glass fortress, lol. I recommend using the portal gun because the pickaxe is just too OP (and kinda silly), as it can break any blocks. But yeah, you dont really need a portal gun or pickaxe for this map.

If you already installed Love then just double click the game file that I provided. I will probably remake the entire mappack when Mari0 SE is out.
