If you fall from a flagpole onto some Repulsion Gel, this happens:

I'm running vanilla Mari0 1.6, Windows Vista.
EDIT: This is what I mean by falling from a flagpole onto some Repulsion Gel:

Because your not supposed to use repulsion gel after a flagpole.
Faith plates work (I think) past the finish though.

I think it's because the animation of Mario going into the castle is a different type of Mario than in the normal game.

Actually, I think the physics change or something when you touch the flagpole, and walk towards the castle.
Could be wrong about this though.
But I highly doubt the 'animation' thing would cause the game to crash. It would just glitch the sprites if anything.

With Faith Plates, the height you jump is already set, so using them after the goal shouldn't be an issue.
With Repulsion Gel, the height you jump is determined with the force you jump from is. The physics probably can't calculate that.

Look at the screenshot of the error.

It has nothing to do with graphics.
It is about the gravity variable.

I think you misinterpreted when I said "Animation of Mario is a different Mario." Of course the animation itself wouldn't cause the problem, but what's calculated behind that animation would.

However you already said this, so bleh, question answered. >don't use repulsion gel after flag.

The animated Mario doesn't have physics, was my initial point. Not that herpderp the animation of Mario is causing the problem. You guys need to read a little more carefully.

Anyways, with gel gun, this is a real problem that should probably be fixed.
