Invisible Blocks Win XP
Hmm... This one has a pretty good rating... I dunno, get Win 7 or a UNIX-like os (linux)Redux wrote:I'm Windows XP SP3 user, so...rokit boy wrote:For people with Win XP SP2. Guys, it has been voted worst OS (Vista SP1 in second) in history, get a life and change it.
i have Windows XP SP3 (since my CPU can't stand vista or 7) fully up-to-date and this HAS NEVER happened to meRedux wrote:I'm Windows XP SP3 user, so...rokit boy wrote:For people with Win XP SP2. Guys, it has been voted worst OS (Vista SP1 in second) in history, get a life and change it.
what in the hell is this glitch?
I can't use Windows 7 for one reason - I have an old sound card and there's no sound drivers for Windows 7. Linux? I was using this and after an hour I changed back to Windows. Linux is just not for me.rokit boy wrote:Hmm... This one has a pretty good rating... I tried to use Ubuntu, but it was like 4 months ago. And I have too much important apps which could not run on Linux.what do you mean it's not for you ? what distro did you try ? also more to the point, did love-unstable with Mari0 work on your version of linux ?
All blocks are visible when playing Portal levels. Can you verify that the blocks do or don't work on portal levels (post a screenshot)?

(off-topic) oh come on, like service packs make it a different OS, Windows XP is the most epic OS ever! Vista is voted worst, then windows ME, and then (i guess) 98 first editionrokit boy wrote:Hmm... This one has a pretty good rating... ontopic: what are your PC specs? Are you absolutely sure you have the latest drivers, and the latest windows updates and patches?

Actually I can't install any updates from Microsoft Update due to modified operating system.
1. I have XP SP3.rokit boy wrote:For people with Win XP SP2. Guys, it has been voted worst OS (Vista SP1 in second) in history, get a life and change it.
2. "get a life and change it" how nice of you to insinuate that I am a lesser person for not being able to afford a new computer instead of this old hand-me-down, thank you very much for attempting to prove your dominance over me while insulting me as a person because I have an old computer.
Here's some info on my PC, if you need any other info to help troubleshoot, just let me know.
Everything is up to date.

Hi guys, can you try downloading this build of LÖVE http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4214717/love-0. ... -novbo.zip and then dragging the mari0 .love file (avaiable on this site) onto the exe? That specific build should in theory force SpriteBatches (used to display the level geometry/blocks) to always use a slower but better supported fallback method, rather than relying on the graphics drivers to tell it which method to use.
It works. I downloaded this stuff from your link and then I dragged mari0_1.2.exe to love_novbo.exe (but I think that is not what you exactly wanted :D).
Game started and all blocks from both mario and portal levels are visible now. Everything seems to work well for me.
Thanks

Now Mari0 works properly, thanks! :Dslime wrote:Hi guys, can you try downloading this build of LÖVE http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4214717/love-0. ... -novbo.zip and then dragging the mari0 .love file (avaiable on this site) onto the exe? But I have a question. Can I make a shortcut to run it like this?
The latest Mari0 version (1.3) contains a possible fix for this issue which doesn't involve always forcing the fallback thing. It would be great if you guys could test if it works and post here with your findings.
If it doesn't end up working, you can permanently attach the Mari0 source to the working LÖVE by doing this in cmd.exe:
copy /b C:\path\to\love_novbo.exe+C:\path\to\Mari0.love C:\path\to\fixedmari0.exe
