Koopas are absolutely ridiculous. I had some puzzles that involved koopas and vertical hard light bridges, they just go right through it. Koopas don't care about doors. I've played your beta version (or alpha, I don't remember), and I can say that it is going to be amazing! I think you should improve your level design. I know, it is supposed to look simple, but add something else, make it look more dynamic maybe. But, even this way, I liked it!

So this probably isn't the most efficient way of doing it, but I couldn't figure out using checkrect. It works anyway and you shouldn't see a drop in performance.
