unfortunately, i don't believe this is possible right now. holding out hope that Löve2D 12.x has some sort of workaround for this, like reading from another folder (with file permissions) – until then, there's nothing that works short of root permissions.

i've got a full playthrough of the demo going up on YouTube – a video of each level will be posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until i've finished running through the demo! they're not perfect runs, but hopefully they do a good job of demonstrating how the levels are built for speedrunning ...

Vladimir, please stop asking me about other versions of Mari0. Retrush is a mappack for AE and it will remain so for the foreseeable future.

If you'd like something to play that isn't for AE, click my avatar to find all of my old mappacks for 1.6 and SE/CE.

Does the mappack work in previous versions of Mari0 AE? no, it relies on custom enemy properties introduced in v13. the original SE version of Retrush has been completely replaced and updated with some new things that don't work in older versions of Mari0 not to mention converting it from SE to AE ...
