I think it's not a storage issue, but a "image is too large and I refuse to decode it" issue. Maybe you could tell us the dimensions of the image, to see if that's the issue.

The crash is because your image cannot be divided into two parts equally. Looking at your image, the first frame is 21 pixels wide, but the second one is 22 pixels wide. Maybe as a "fix", you could make it so it copies the save directory to the clipboard if you click the "Press M to open folder" (since I've read you can't open file:// schemed URLs in Android 7+).
