As for the final point, there is a reason, but it's not stated very directly. You can probably take a guess with what's there already, but it will become more obvious in the full version. Keep in mind that the plot is going to stay cryptic as hell.

Hot tip: no one will ever make an enemy for you; you'll just have to learn how to do it yourself. I hope this will be a good resource for you, and I will say that a lot of those behaviors can be done with enemy transforms.

I think the main issue with this right now is that you don't use poison mushrooms well. I mean heck, they seem to be even more common than regular mushrooms. The big flaw with this is that it actually discourages exploration, which stunts its replay value. If you were more open and honest about them...

I think that's the end2img glitch, and is caused by a typo in the game's code. I think the Bugfixes has a thing for it.

The .exe file is likely unobfuscated, so you could probably open it up with anything that can open .zip files. If not, I guess you could download the .love version, edit that, then compile it into an .exe, but that's really complicated for a simple texture edit.
