Board rules

These rules are disclosed to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members here on Stabyourself.net forum. They shall be adhered to by everyone to ensure that our board runs smoothly and provides a fun and productive experience for all of our community members and visitors.

  1. The basics

    1. Post in English.
With exception of Technical support forum; keep in mind that you're most likely to get help if you post in English, German or Slovenian. #
    2. Don't be a prick. #
    3. No referrals or advertising garbage. #
    4. Don't post things that could be considered not safe for work.
And if you will link them, add a clear warning beforehand - do not use spoiler tags to hide the content. This applies for avatars as well. #
    5. If someone is breaking the rules, use the report function.
Look for the ! icon on the right side of posts or PMs. If there is a spammer or a special situation, contact an administrator. #
  2. Posting

    1. Read your post out loud before posting.
If it sounds stupid even to yourself, others will likely think the same. Don't post that. #
    2. Thread titles have to be descriptive.
"Help!!!" is not a good title. "My map/mod" is not a good title either. Use titles like "Problems when starting the game" and "Water world map"/"Super jump mod". #
    3. Do not use custom font size/color for your entire posts.
They are there to highlight important information. This rules page should be a fairly good example how to color parts of posts by importance. In 95% of cases, you will not need custom colors/font size. #
    4. Do not bump threads unless you have a good reason.
Bumping threads is fine as long as you add something to the discussion or bring up to date information regarding it. Bumping with just "this is cool/terrible/whatever" is pointless and wastes everyone's time. If your thread is inactive, you can use the board's Bump Thread feature, which is available after 3 days of inactivity by clicking on the tool icon next to post reply. #
    5. Do not evade the word filter.
We don't filter curse words, just bad words. Still, don't swear unnecessarily since that makes your post sound stupid. #
    6. Forum games go into the Shameless Chamber and nowhere else. #
    7. Do not respond to spambots or spammers, do not quote them, do not acknowledge their existance, use the report function.
Telltale signs of of a spambot are: Fake signature with links to irrelevant sites, extremely generic posts with links, users that have both "Occupation" and "Website" filled out with suspicious and site unrelated things, bumping extremely old threads, etc. Spambots will be deleted along with all their posts. #
    8. Don't post in help threads if you don't intend to help.
This especially applies to the Technical Support forum. Don't even think about making anything remotely funny there. #
  3. File uploads (attachments)

    1. Do not upload viruses, malware, trojans, or any other malicious files.
You are solely responsible for the content you are uploading. If you upload malicious files, you will be permanently banned immediately. #
    2. Use attachment system only to upload relevant files.
This is not your general file hosting service. If you make a mod or a map, you are free to upload it in a relevant forum and topic. If you upload random files to be shared elsewhere, all your files will be removed. #
  4. Your account

    1. Do not make alt accounts.
No matter how justifiable or funny your reason might be. One account per person. #
    2. If you get banned, feel free to read the forum logged out. #
